Promote Your Book Online For Free
83Are you writing a non-fiction book? Many others are too, but may not do their pre writing homework to make their book sell many more copies and bring many more clients.
When questions come to me via my web site, I often wince when emerging authors say, "My book is done. Now, how do I market it?" This question needs to be asked and answered BEFORE you write the book, not after.
But since so many smart people don't know this or if they do, choose to ignore it, I feel maybe I can reach a few top entrepreneurs or CEOs who realize they need some coaching in this field. Coaching saves you a lot of time and money mistakes, much more than its cost. Part of smart book planning is knowing when to start marketing to increase non fiction book sales.
Promote Your Book Inside First
None of the below ways cost a penny, and make a difference you'll love, so no excuses.
1. Stand out from the crowd.
Make each chapter title unique and make it reflect your title. This brands YOU, your small business, and your book.
2. Write your marketing message before you finish book.
This includes the back cover and short Web site sales letter. The latest news is that short is better for the short attention span of the targeted visitor.
3. Think book title.
Make it clever and clear, and clear if you don't make it clever. Short titles such as "The Unspoken Rules of Chinese Business Etiquette." Follow that with the book's promise or benefits. This "tell and sell" short sound bite works.
4. Gather testimonials along the way.
Send out emails to your associates first. Include possible benefits for them to "borrow" to write a short testimonial. Give them your book's title and "tell and sell." Have 10 or so ready before you finish your book.
Market Your Book on the Internet or Phone
While some of these cost, you should already have a book account to tap into for marketing investments. And, remember, marketing is the only way you'll sell yourself or your books, so invest a little. Start right now, and be amazed!
1. Send email marketing messages to your lists.
To assist individuals, make a difference, and perhaps sell some of my new article marketing books, I sent my subscribers a 10 minute free phone coaching offer on marketing their book for one special day.
2. Get a professional one-page Web site that sells your book.
These run about $500-$700, depending on the work. This will include an order page and fulfillment.
3. Put your print book on Amazon.
This won't make you rich, but it does serve a big audience that may want your topic. Some Amazon book buyers come to me as bookcoaching clients.
4. Do what you do best, and hire the rest.
This saying from Jim Belasco, management guru, moved me off my having to do it all to learning how to delegate. Now I use virtual assistants, webmasters and organizers chosen from Craig's list and other sources. Look at the payoffs! My sales are 20 times this investment. $200 a month yields $3500+ a month. And, $400 a month yields over $7000 a month. These people expand your business beyond your wildest dreams.
5. Give a free teleseminar.
Give really good information people can use. Then, make your book offer during the call. This is a favorite of mine, yet only 20% of businesses do this.
6. Write articles that relate to your book's topic.
Hand submit them to high-traffic websites and high-traffic blogs.
Use Article Marketing for Online Book Sales
Do you ever stop marketing? I'd say not if you want to make book and business profits. Consistent effort, not struggle, works to make money selling books.
Increase profits and market and sell more books with free online article marketing.
If you have dumped all your efforts and money hoping "word of mouth" would propel your business, or you have spent multiple hours on networking meetings - it may be time for article marketing to promote your book online for great business success.
Seven Reasons to Write Articles:
1. It's free marketing and it's marketing you can cater to your inner specialty.
Blogs and article directories and ezines want your articles. Your target audience visits these places to get free information on their favorite topics. These online marketing opportunities don't charge you to submit your article. Your payback and benefits? With your well-written resource box submitted with you get thousands of daily target visitors to your Web site to find out more about what you offer. They appreciate your knowledge and unique, one-of-a-kind approach to it. They get the articles free. You get free search engine optimization and high web ranking along with book sales to match. In blogs, you can include a link to where you sell books.
2. You can reach from 10,000 to 500,000 of your target audience each day that you submit an article.
Your target audience surfs blogs and web sites to get free information. When you write articles and they get published, your visibility will multiply from this viral marketing technique.
You don't need to be techie at all to do this kind of internet marketing.
3. You will spend far less time with article marketing than traditional marketing.
You only have to write one or two articles per week which should take less than 3 hours. If you keep your articles somewhat short (400-600 words) blogs, ezines, and article directories will love them. After the book sales come rolling in you can afford to delegate to a virtual assistant who will submit them. Total time with article marketing will be ess than five hours a week. This is the best marketing investment because your articles show your audience that you are the savvy expert in your field, and you will become a household name. The more articles you write related to your book or businesses, the more the search engines will see your key words and bump you up in visibility to high web ranking.
4. Submitting articles is seven times as effective as any other marketing.
When you submit many articles, you become known as the expert, as the authority, as the guru, and your market will flock to your web site.
After you write ten articles, you can leverage through promotions on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This outstanding viral marketing technique will bring people who want to interview you, who want to share your information, and who want to work directly with you!
5. You can raise your own ezine subscribers from 10-25 every day you submit an article to high-traffic web sites, blogs, and article directories.
After reading six or seven of your ezines, your target audience who came to you through these articles, trust you more, believe in you, and eventually will buy books from you..
6. You can market straight from your home or office.
Right now, I'm looking out my nature filled office window here in San Diego. You too can enjoy book marketing more because you don't have to go out to sell or tell.
Why should marketing be such a struggle? It's natural to share, but it's easier when we are relaxed in our own setting. Sure, phone conversations and networking are good, but not always as productive for the time and money spent as writing articles and submitting them are.
7. Your book will brand business.
Once thousands of your target market read your articles, they will share your information with their friends and associates. They will visit your web site to check out your book's copywriting -sales letter. This branding works for authors, speakers, consultants and coaches, solo professionals, and other small businesses.
You will get known as the savvy expert with article marketing. The internet changes your book marketing game in ways you'll appreciate, because you will not have to spend much time or money with this great viral, online marketing technique.
Start writing short articles now, and see how this great exposure to eager online readers and web surfers in your field will bring your book big books sales and profits.
Online Book Promoting with Articles - 3 Lessons Learned
One thing I know is that the power of article marketing is endless. You can use it for business marketing, for search engine optimization, for articles submitted to high traffic blogs to increase your website traffic and become known as the expert after you submit a certain amount of articles. Like me, you'll hear from the high traffic article directories when they tap your shoulder for knighthood.
Like any other kind of marketing, it's consistency and persistance that builds your reputation as the fountain of wisdom your followers will love. This kind of internet marketing works better than another other I know. But there are lessons I learned that you can skip and go straight to making profits in business with your article marketing success.
1. Turn up your article volume to build a much larger level of targeted web traffic that will optimize your web site.
Starting eight years ago, I just wrote how to articles that could benefit my audience. No key word research like today, but When I submitted 40, when Googling my name, I came up on 1000 web sites that published those articles. Later, the numbers rose to over being on 125,000+other sites with a link to my website. ne. That number multiples each week--viral marketing at its best. Meaning, the more useful, original articles circulating on the web, the more visitors come to your web site, many to buy your ebooks, print books and your services.
2. Know that your articles published on high trafic blogs and web sites will market you and optimize your position and your website targeted visitors.
Check the Alexa rating of the article directory site you may send an article to. Alexa rating is based on the amount of traffic over a three-month period. To get started, visit www.alexa.comand download and install the Alexa toolbar which offers a search function and displays the site's rank. Your goal? To get ranked 1 million or less. Compare that score to the 10 million websites out there.
Google PageRank brings your web site targeted free traffic through intriguing free offers in your signature file and author bio. You raise Google PageRank by creating more incoming links to a website. If your resource box or web bio makes a great free offer and a link to your site, you will get a possible stampede!
The top eine article directory is www.ezinearticles.com. Always write and submit an article to them frequently. When my web master analyzed where my traffic comes from a great deal of it comes from ezine articles directory. I even wrote a book with the 20 top rated web sites for article marketing.
These ranking companies are not totally accurate, so just look for the trends.Huges companies get the highest; small companies will do well to aim for 1 million or less Alexa ranking.
3. Change your article marketing approach when the rules change and what did work with Web 1.0 techniques is now replced with Web 2.0 application of article marketing.
Article blasting services submit automatically to low traffic web sites not supportive of your goal, and can ruin your standing with Google. Google spiders are tuned to spot spam These submission tools make article spamming easy. Spamming refers to the duplication of articles. Today, you'll want to hand submit around 3 to 5 articles a week to one site, then change the article enough that it gets 50% uniqueness from www.dupecop.com to submit to another site.
When I paid $300 for one of these article marketing services, I was horrified at their dysfunctional mangement with poor programming glitchs, and not answering emails until I quit. I did get my money back. Since article writing and submitting is my major way to market, I improved my approach and now focus only on the top blogs and article directories.

Really good information, many of the things you mentioned I was doing and didn't know I was doing them. As far as the article and blog directories, has something changed? I recall doing a search on these directories and it was like pulling a tooth from a brick - non-existent.
